BGS - Federal Frontier Police Memories 1951 -1974
It´s been a
lot of time, since, and today it´s gone: the “old” BGS. And still it´s
worth remembering, because it was a troop worth the taxes spent on it
during Cold War. Even if or
maybe just because it´s been quite rough, I am proud having been part of
it.
Often, I have
to think about these times when seeing todays BGS-agents - respectively
Federal Frontier Police agents – on duty at airports. This image does
not reflect the former BGS at all anymore.
Hopefully,
some former comrades feel the way I do and maybe just try out “BGS” on
an internet search engine waiting what
links might turn up. If they hit this site, I´d be looking forward to
hearing from them per e-mail or via signing up my guestbook. Maybe, they
could help me retrieve some of the information that sometimes now is
rather vague after 46 years: be it places, dates or names, that I marked
“(?)”. If somebody opens this site, who joined me at some point or
partly travelled the same road, I did, it would be great, if he could
contact me. I would also be delighted to integrate additional material. I
but in case someone should not agree with his name or face being on the
site, please tell me. I would find it particularly nice, to get to know
more about one or another that way.
As publications ob the net are subject to certain press laws, I am need the appoval of those comrades, who are pictured on this site or whose names are mentioned. This is why I have switched in a password protection, for the time being. Please, post your e-mail address on the guestbook and I´ll send you the log-in data
Best regards
